Community Service: 2008 Sutter Breast Cancer Quilt Auction
The Breast Cancer Quilt Auction is a community service project that raises funds for Sutter Medical Center’s breast cancer research and patient treatment programs.
Since 1999, quilters from throughout northern California have generously created over 1400 beautiful quilts for the auction raising over $300,000.
Donating a quilt
The deadline to donate quilts is September 1, 2008. Quilt collection begins on January 1, 2008. Quilts of all sizes, colors and styles are welcome with the exception of tied quilts. Donated quilts must be new, hand or machine quilted and have a 4-inch sleeve for hanging.
This event takes place every three years with the next auction scheduled for October 2008. For those Guild members interested in participating please contact our Breast Cancer Auction chair Irene Davis.
